Northampton Radlands Part 2, Red Or Brown Sauce
This incident has to be one of the most spontaneous craziest things I have EVER witnessed with the Bearwood BMX Team and believe me alot of antics have been witnessed. Like I have said before and will keep on saying that these Brothers are pranksters in the finest form going. This happened on a day when we was all riding at Radlands, They used to have a cafe inside the skatepark where you got served through a opening in the wall. A Few of us were a little peckish so we are like, "let's go and get some food from the cafe", We line up in the queue in the correct manner as you would, Now It is my turn to order my food, Bearwood Tom is standing their with me, whilst the other boys are waiting their turn and are in the queue just behind. I have ordered my food and am just about too walk away and let someone else order, whilst I'm waiting, all of a sudden I notice Bearwood Tom is grinning and sniggering too himself.(NOT A GOOD SIGN) Now I know by previous experience : )) that something is about too GO DOWN !!!!, I hotstep and leg it from him, the Brothers in the queue behind have no idea of this. LORD HAVE MERCY, When I look back, by now Bearwood Tom has picked up the LARGE squeezy Red And Brown Sauce bottles, and has turned around and proceeded too just Hose Everyone Down, Poor Buggers, there was some innocent people in that queue as well, I was well clear of all this by now and just standing in Shock, watching all the commotion going on, Thank God I escaped in the Knick of Time, THANK YOU LORD. The rest of the Bearwood Boy's were just standing there in utter shock, looking down at their T-Shirts, which are now completely covered in sauce, when a couple seconds ago they was just Fresh, There was a pause while the shock drifted away and Reality set in. You would think that was it?? "OH NO", Low and Behold the boys were not going too be out done, "NEVER", and so they pick up the other sauce bottles, MY DAYS, Now its on a full scale battle. There is sauce everywhere on the clothes, in their hair, On their Face, all over the floor, just covered everywhere. Some people were not amused, some in shock, but we was just in Hysterics, you can't buy that genuine madness for all the money going. Priceless and Timeless. You know what though, that was the True Essence Of Bearwood BMX. First have a laugh, then Second we will ride if we get time. To top all this off for me was that pretty much all my passengers was involved in the sauce sprayout. I told them all too clean up or I'm not going to take them home END OF. Whilst the others made an effort to clean up the best they could, Bearwood Tom just stripped down to his under garments, Simple?? NO NO NO, he clearly has had a little too much to drink, then decides that the under garments are not suitable no more!!, so WHOOSH off they come. The end to this is that he travelled back in the car to Birmingham, pretty much with just his under garments on all the way back in the end, like that was not enough, He started Brotherly Love on the way back home, : )) That stirred some people up in the car. Well that is for another day. To Much Madness In Abundance.
MUCH PEACE AND BLESSINGS TO EACH AND ALL

Northampton's Radland's Part 1, Introducing Kenny Chrome
Last Night I was with one of the Bearwood BMXs old school Vert Rider and Legend, The One "Don Chromeleone" AKA Kenny Chrome. I was stuck for ideas for this blog. Kenny started telling me some stories about the journey's and session's we used too enjoy down at Northampton's Radlands Indoor Skatepark, Then I start Remembering the times he was talking about. Yes they was special times in our BMXing days and for sure they were great times. The stories Kenny was reminding me of was the pinnacle hours and time of the madness, them days were FUNNY, in a rib cracking way. I'd like to share what I can with you all. These are bits and bobs of what happened spanning the years of traveling to Northampton. First one that needs to be shared is of The One Don Chromeleone when he hit the roof (Crazy). There was a good turnout at Radlands with riders coming from all over to ride the skatepark back then in around the early-mid 1990s. All of The Bearwood riders were there on this particular day, infact I know we all used too travel down in our own cars and meet up as a group down there. Kenny Chrome, this Brother don't need no introductions too be fair, but just too be fair I will share a little something. First you may be wondering why he is called Kenny Chrome AKA Don Chromeleone, well it comes about because Kenny was the owner and a big fan of Chrome BMXs throughout his riding year's and still is to this day, he is a tough cookie too crack when you try and get the information, tips and secrets of a Clean Bike. No Joke he had the most Cleanest Bikes known to man, on a summers day you could be permanently blinded if you were brave enough too ever look direct at his bike, and he would let you know if your bike needed a wash down because it wasn't passing the test,DANGER. Don Chromeleone AKA Dad, It all came about because he is the oldest and wisest in the team, Head of the outfit. With This Bearwood Team he had his hands full. Anyway, So we are all down at Radlands riding the day away in our own mannerism, It has changed layouts quite a bit over the years, but this layout in particular was where it had a Quarter pipe at one end, which was down next to the half pipe, and then a little kind of drive way grind box? after that was a fun box which was of a good size, and then a 6ft or 7ft Quarter pipe up against the double doors which lead out onto the car park. These doors where quite wide and of a good height, Let's say you could drive an artic lorry through these doors as they were of that size. You had a quarter pipe placed in between the walls that made up the doorway. I now remember Kenny Chrome do a 6ft+ air out of the Quarter Pipe which was next to the vert ramp, hop the drive way, blast over the fun box in a nice smooth manner, Then just (BLAST) hit the Quarter Pipe (By The Doors) so fast that he just launched out the top and just went UP, UP, And UP And UP And UP, until he hits the top of the doorway wall which is away up above, and stops dead in his tracks, and plummets to earth. That air was Real and It was HIGH, truthfully I thought he styled and blagged it and rode away like in a True Bearwood Sketchy Manner, but listening to Chrome last night it turned out that he went over the bars and head butted the floor and managed to get himself a black eye. The People Were In Shock, No Helmet, No Elbow or Knee Pads Either just T Shirts And Vision Shorts. Big Respect To Don Chromeleone and he got some skills. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SAFETY GEAR WHEN STUNTING.

SAFETY FIRST
ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SAFETY GEAR WHEN STUNTING WITHOUT FAILURE. LETS YOU GET A FEW MORE YEARS IN.
Bearwood BMX Birmingham And It's Journey So Far
Now the History of BMXing in Lightwoods Park, Bearwood, Birmingham started from what I believe, was back in the 1980s, with the 1st Generation of local riders. Thats 30+ YEARS Ago, AMAZING i know, infact it's OUT OF THIS WORLD and probably a bit hard to take in, 30+ YEARS YO !!, Now that's Something. The old school riders who are the 2nd Generation would consist of John "The Don Chromeleone" Kenny, Bearwood "The Mear" Tom, Mike "The Magnet" Coley, Dean "Ding Dong" Watson, Brother Swainy, Glen Dutton, Colin "Turbo Boss" Scott, William "Main Man" Wills, Me "Myself" I, Spencer "Z Rims" Weaver, Paul "Redline" Reedy, Greg "Main Man" Johnstone, Simon "Jester" Paton, Dean "Shoe" Taylor, Stuart "Potty" Murray, Karl "Main Man" Jones, John "Chin" Acocks Green. A little introduction into a few of these Brothers I had the priviage to BMX with, The Kenny Chrome is the daddy of whole Bearwood BMX Full Factory Team ;), and has been riding the longest and has skills, then you got The Mear, well let me just say and sum him up, A One Foot scaffold pole modified into a rear peg, Keep your knee's and ankles tucked in at all times, Next is The Magnet, well its all in the name and no not to do with the ladies but with his head and the floor,Oh and One of the Original and First Brakeless BMXers Out Of Bearwood, then it's Ding Dong, this Brother loved his 3/4 shorts and mastered the coping no matter where it was and in a true form he had nothing but major skills, then it's Turbo Boss AKA Mr C, this brother had no concept of time, if you read one of the previous blogs about waiting for hours before a road trip, well it's this brother we was waiting for most of the time, all good still, Then Brother Will is a top dude going, Respect to Will, Then we got Spen Z Rim, this dude is crazy in a clever way, just nuts had some good days BMXing with this brother, Respect To Spen, next up is Redline Reedy who is a top brother and proper fun to be around, Main man Greg has been around a while got the skills on skateboards and BMXing top man, The Jester is the man you need to thank for the "Annekas Challenge" original skatepark at Bearwood and paving the way and setting the foundation back then which got us todays new skatepark, John Chin used to travel in but was a true local never the less, had some fun seesions with john, a little mad and up for a laugh, kind of fitted in perfect with the team LOL. To finish it off is Brother Kenny Black, this guy is full speed ahead no messing and could fool you into thinking he's about to land on the moon with his 1000mph approach, Big Respect To KB. Yeah so these Brothers are the reason Bearwood BMX is still about today, and there's many more that have represented too. But it's the new age of riders who use Bearwood Skatepark to take it into the next Era and keep going from Strength To Strength. Imagine getting these Old boy's to do a show down the Skatepark on the 40th Anniversary Of Bearwood BMX Birmingham in 8 Years time (Laughing). But on a serious note I think that there should be some sort of "No Seriousness Just Have Fun" Jam To celebrate all These years Of Stunting. Time will tell Eh. I'm going to share what i know about the 3rd Generation riders soon, This is where the game changed Noticeably between the 2nd and 3rd Generation. SKILLS
Much Peace And Blessings To Each And All.

The Dangers Of The Deep Blue Sea - Southsea
One experience I had was when I went to the Legendary "King Of Concrete" Contest, at Southsea Skatepark in Portsmouth with the Bearwood BMX team. On this journey when we was in Southsea some of us bought inflatable lilos to use as make shift bedding, and to be comfortable for the night time sleep and the sweet dreams. I'm not sure who or why it happened but someone suggested we all go on the sea with the lilos, there was a few of us, so we all said yeah "Let's Do It Why Not" so off we go lilos tucked under our arms. I'm sure someones lilo popped while pumping it up but not sure who's it was?? All of us then went down to the beach at Southsea, so the lilo owners went to set up, me being one of them, whilst the other boy's stayed out the water and watched our clothes, belongings Etc. I remember clearly that everyone has got their own space on the sea while setting up, then off we go just paddling out to sea having a laugh, I then start doing my own thing and staying a few feet back and to the left from the group because from previous experiences i knew this was not going to be normal in any way whatsoever. I was paddling for a while and after a little while I seen these 2 elderly gentlemen just out at sea in the distance, so by now we are quite a way from the beach, to me it looked like they were treading water, so I paddle over to them to see, when I got there I start chatting to them to see what the deal was. It happens that they was standing on this ledge (Wall) that was there out at sea, they explained it was not too big at all and what not else, and that it is a local knowledge thing, I can see why. So me being me I thought i'm going to have a go, I started to get off the lilo and tried to stand on this WALL, whilst i'm half off and half on the lilo trying to feel for this ledge with my one foot, the gents start shouting saying NO NO NO and start explaining the ledge is too small and that it only fits the 2 of them and also its very deep water here. I panic and I start to scramble back onto my lilo which was a task and a half considering there flimsy and it was trying to overturn, I was kind of thinking Oh Oh what if there is any sharks at the same time and PANIC. With the grace of God I got back on to the lilo, said my fairwell's to them and went to catch the group up who where ahead of me in the distance. When you go forward you don't look back at times, and this is one of them moments, LORD HAVE MERCY when I started to paddle towards the group, right then just up ahead in the distance this boat goes flying past, the wave off the boat rocked my lilo proper, and I was thinking at the time how mad is that, that they let the boats come this close to the shore?? It's then I thought how FAR ARE WE from the beach, turned and looked, Low and Behold the rest of the Bearwood rider's that are on the beach looked like little specs. We had ventured a little too far and beyond the limits I think, By this time the rest of the group were heading back now towards where I was. I think their lilos were rocked more than mine from that boat because they was closer to France than I was. I started to paddle back to the beach and funnily enough I then bump into Bearwood Tom, who was part of the group just doing his thing, he starts a conversation and we are chatting away and after a while I can feel my lilo has started to lose air?? What Bearwood Tom had done was whilst we was deep in conversation, he unplugged my air valve, so now I am sinking in the middle with both ends stuck up in the air like a V shape. Trying to re seal the plug and trying to get hold of him before he paddles off but I manage to grab hold of his lilo and unplug the valve just in time, now that is TEAMWORK. It turned out that was his party trick out at sea with some of the others. You could see who hadn't escaped his party trick, V shaped lilos bobbing about. Now were heading back to the beach and slowly you start too see the figures get bigger and bigger, we are now getting closer and closer, Thank You Lord. Only to be met with flying stones, rocks Etc Etc Etc from the boys on the beach, I reached the beach first after a little diversion, with them near misses I was lucky because the rest of the group when coming in to shore, they had too dodge all sorts of flying objects. They all reached the beach safe and sound in true Bearwood BMX fashion. Letting the air out of the lilos became a thing over the weekend. It seemed to be that if you went to sleep on a lilo full of air, only for it to be deflated in the morning with the valve plug open. Even though it became scary at times at sea, it was a great experience never to be done again. Once Was Enough Thank You. :)
Much Peace And Blessings To Each And All
